      <image:caption>Yoga extends beyond the shapes, so I let the shapes be informed by contemporary movement science. It is my belief that anything that connects you to yourself, that creates harmony with the moment and absorbs you in either motion or stillness can be a Yoga. For some people this might happen while walking, swimming, climbing... For others it might be what they do on a mat and call a Yoga practice. When I let go of the idea that only a specific practice (Ashtanga yoga in my case) could deliver a superior form of ‘Yoga’, I was left with the question of what to practise, what to teach? If it is possible to be equally present with any movement activity, whether it a sun salutation, a roll across the floor, an isometric hold… what should form the content of my classes? It made sense to create movement sequences that would create ease and resilience in the unique individual bodies of those attending my classes. After extensive research and exploration I found a combination of movement modalities that could suit almost everyone. I create joyful classes that consider what current bio-mechanic and neuroscientific research says on how these flesh-suits of ours work, and what they respond well to. A good practice becomes evident in students. It’s been a pleasure to work with people who might be older, injured or in pain and see every joint begin to free up and start moving again as they become stronger, more mobile and able to manoeuvre on and off the floor with greater ease and grace than they have had in decades. I am an ‘Experienced’ Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher, with many years of experience and training. It is my pleasure to work with all types of bodies and people.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Classes work with the body and mind in the spirit of Yoga, but incorporate movements and shapes from other modalities. Informed by quality movement science, every class is different, stimulating the brain with novel inputs. We always start on the floor to quieten the nervous system and set up ideal conditions for change to occur and be absorbed. We then flow through a standing sequence before returning to the floor. Classes are finely tuned to the students, who can expect to see and feel immediate differences after one session and lasting changes with sustained practice.</image:caption>

It is also a key to staying in touch with the beauty and wonder of life, so I am careful to balance the required discipline with the joy of meditation. A qualified Meditation teacher, I have worked with groups and individuals for many years.       <image:caption>Mobility refers to the amount of active, usable motion you possess. (Whereas flexibility is the range of motion which you might be able to get into, but not control.) The gap between your flexiblity and mobility is where injuries tend to occur. Catching up your mobility to your flexibility means owning your range of motion. You can then maximise your movement potential and safe guard your joints. In the process we improve the function of your nervous system which also reduces the chances of pain and injury, joint health and longevity. I am a Functional Range Systems mobility specialist. Functional Range Conditioning® is a comprehensive joint training system based in scientific principals and research. I will assess you and build a programme to improve your performance whether you have something specific you would like to work on, or if are looking to improve overall function.</image:caption>

One on one instruction enables you to hone your skills, deconstructing and work-shopping elements at your own pace. I use a combination of verbal and physical instruction, and consented touch in my teaching. We can work in your space, in mine space, or in a public outside area.
